Enamelling

Vitreous enamel is glass fused to metal at over 800°C — a slow, exacting process built on layered firings rather than a single finish.

Janine hand-cuts a stencil, lays it on copper, sifts powdered enamel over it and fires the piece in a kiln — often over several layers before a design is complete. Each finished panel is a one-off, made to order.
